Read moreCongratulations to Evilina Kadimova! Her performance in the Russian Poetry contest at Southern Arizona Language Fair has been considered as outstanding by the jury. She won 1st place. Southern Arizona Language Fair was held last Saturday at the University of Arizona and gathered two thousand participants from southern Arizona schools and universities. Evilina is a 4th grade student. It's her third year of participation in the Language Fair. She is already familiar with the University of Arizona campus, auditoriums and some professors. This year she already earned invitation to submit application at University of Arizona by a UofA Language Fair jury. Keep going, Evelina!
Read moreCongratulations to Amanda Keen who earned 1st place in the State of Arizona for grade 9, and Brian Lash who earned 1st place in the State of Arizona for grade 10 in the “Math Kangaroo International Math Competition.” AMS also placed first for the 7th, 8th, and 9th grade teams. The following students represented the Academy of Math and Science on these teams which took 1st place: 7th grade: Alexis Moore, Harley Todd, David Arutyunyants, and Ian Cutlip; 8th grade: Austin Castle, Jordan Bruckmeier, Roberto Lee, and Raymundo Solis; 9th grade: Amanda Keen, Christina Spafford, and Eduardo Garcia.

Read moreOn Saturday, February 13, 2010, seven of the members of the AMS Science team competed in Science Olympiad. Our students participated in 8 out of 20 events. Our results were fantastic!!! We won 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th and 7th places in diffferent competitions. Congratulations! We are looking forward to the next competition on March 13, 2010 in Phoenix.

Read moreThe International Winter Celebration was held all day on December 18, 2009. Students and teachers wore different cultural attire, tasted a variety of ethnic food, and participated in international games and workshops. We had a pot luck and students brought in a dish that was a winter tradition for their family. We had a feast! Mrs. Perry and Ms. Ciesielski-Motta thank all our parent's for their help and participation in making this annual event a success. The Academy of Math and Science is an educational community that promotes acceptance of cultural diversity.
